Lyrics
Sentinels of Colored Glass #2
The days are warm
And flocks of swallows cross
Your window fieldwide
Every now and then far away
In another timespan they would say
The birds who's coming silently this way tend to stay
And so the spring turns to summer
And the opulence of summer-tide turns to autumn
And the ones who's been carried away by the gloat, pest or war
Rest in peaceful mounds of soil
Eyes do firmly stand, still watching
Stout in every mind and in all kinds of hearts
As if someone stranger than themselves never goes
To sleep in mansions or along the ragamuffin roads
And all the feet which stumble on
To more than insights never found
Stop at an incident of hope
Near a churchyard greened with grass
At the glimpse of sentinels in colorful glass
The days are cold, the lakes are freezing
Please give a crumb to
The lonely heartbeat and the outsourced mind's starvation
And if you linger, send a dove or a king of the clowns
It is the winter of our punishment and need
And no-one moves in halls of wealthy warring weed
Except for the ones of everlasting greed and pain
Those who make the innocent in cities die in vain
But as the futile years go by
Heartless hearts may cry
By the house with the colorful glass
Walking down the street
You see hundreds of people
And more than a thousands of globes
Everything is peaceful
But the world is not the same
As it once did use to be
In the happy moments of the near-most past
At the end of the street your eyes suddenly meet
A shop with three sentinels of colored glass inside the window
In times of sorrow
Open your eyes and see what you were meant to be
A gardener of a multitude of ways
By high-grown apple-trees and working days
In cities and fields
When the light in your eyes
And the hurrying smile on your lips
With internal resistance strength defeating every war
As the walk of day turns to evening
And the skyline of billion twinkling stars
Merge their lights with angels of glass
Peace will come
To all the fields
Where the shepherds tend
Grey iron herds of fate
In command of every State
Sullenly, never free
But bound in flesh and the mask of liberty
The young men's gone fighting
For the bald men's gold
And the lawless bunch tycoons sold
Bomb-traps behind castle walls
That was never exposed, watched or shelled out
Torn to the pieces that the crows behold
And the nearby sentinels of shattered mold
Rise, ascends to the highlands
Where the silence cries out
Transforms all its young soldiers to partitions of
Eternal souls
That's on the news-desk of the smugly state
That's in the heartbeat of their unknown mate
Where the mothers wail and the fathers will cry
For their sacrificial fate
When the bald men go on roaming like fierce maniacs
At this rate
Walking down the street
You see hundreds of people
And more than a thousands of globes
Everything is peaceful
But the world is not the same
As it once did use to be
In the happy moments of the near-most past
At the end of the street your eyes suddenly meet
A shop with three sentinels of colored glass inside the window
In times of sorrow
Open your eyes and see what you were meant to be
A gardener of a multitude of ways
By high-grown apple-trees and working days
In cities and fields
When the light in your eyes
And the hurrying smile on your lips
With internal resistance strength defeating every war
As the walk of day turns to evening
And the skyline of billion twinkling stars
Merge their lights with angels of glass
