Lyrics
Elven dance on the Moon
I saw a cat in the moon with a bowler hat,
And a basket of grey mice and rats
Dance along with a marmalade moonshadow train,
And a song that sounded like rain
Drizzled down on a honeymoon mat.
The moon was a teapot, which circled slow,
Where the stars sip their milkshake, aglow.
So I turned to the sky, could it hear my mouth's breeze ?
"I'm so cold, said the sky, I must sneeze
So my ears they are dampened with snow."
But the stream, yes, the stream was aglow,
It brought waves in a fast flushing flow.
And the six trees on nightwatch, were ever so prone,
To emit from a blurpian bark telephone
Old secrets that only wild shadows do know.
Elven dance on the moon,
Flicker like lamps on a cheesy balloon.
Lightyears of time on their wings,
Speak of old worlds and of weathering things.
Swinging along where the dust-devils brings
Swift elven dance on the moon.
I met a crab in a jellyfish coat,
It told tales from bright Blurpian boats,
That sailed free on the oceans made solely of sound,
Where the footsteps were lost and time too had drowned.
A door then appeared, made of sunrise and gold,
And I asked, “Where does this entrance lead ?"
And it mumbled, “It’s where all the clocks growing old,
And the foam's made of marzipan seed.”
Then the hurrying wind, which on icecaps clings,
Swept around two sweet Google-eyed trees.
And the moon's nightingales, they were summoned to sing,
Billow-blue songs of Poseidon's lost seas.
Elven dance on the moon,
Flicker like lamps in a cheesy cocoon.
Lightyears of time on their wings,
Speak of old worlds and of weathering things.
Swinging along where the dust-devils brings
Swift elven dance on the moon.
So I rested my head on a blueberry hill
Where the dreams are a silkwoven maze
And the moon reappeared as a stone by a mill
Grounding emerald songs from my gaze
For the moonlight and stars to embrace.
